Spelman College offers several support and resource options for individuals who have experienced, witnessed or been accused of sex or gender-based discrimination, including acts of violence.

Professional, licensed counselors and pastoral counselors who provide mental-health counseling to members of the Spelman community, and including those who act in that role under the supervision of a licensed counselor, are not required to report any information about an incident to the Title IX Coordinator without a victim’s permission.
Counseling Center
The staff can assist with coping with the emotional and psychological impact of an incident.
Student Health Services
The staff can assist with accessing medical care such as, documenting and treating injuries, prevention of sexually transmitted diseases and family planning options.
Dean of the Chapel
The staff can assist with the spiritual and religious concerns following an incident.
The Spelman College Employee Assistance Program (EAP), provides confidential access to professional counseling services for help in confronting such personal problems. The EAP is available to all employees and their immediate family members offering problem assessment, short-term counseling, and referral to appropriate community and private services.
