A transfer applicant has completed a high school diploma or equivalent and has attended another college for at least one term as a degree-seeking student. Transfer admission to Spelman College is selective. A maximum of 60 transfer credit hours can be applied to your Spelman degree. Applicants must be in good standing and eligible to return to their previous institutions. Students must have 35 credit hours completed before applying to Spelman. Additionally, due to increased interest in Spelman, competitive applicants for transfer admissions typically have a cumulative college GPA of 3.8 and above.

At Spelman, more than 85 percent of our students received financial assistance to support their enrollment and success. The majority of funds administered by Spelman College’s Office of Financial Aid come from federal and state sources. Students are encouraged to complete the free application for Student Aid (FAFSA) as soon as possible. The earliest that students can complete their FAFSA is Oct. 1.
