Dedicated to delivering the Spelman promise and enhancing operational effectiveness, the Title IX and Compliance office supports this commitment through institutional compliance and risk management efforts. The Title IX & Compliance office has oversight for the development of institutional policies and related procedures, as well as works in collaboration with other units to promote equity, safety and mitigation of risk.
Sexual misconduct, including sexual harassment, sexual violence, stalking, dating and domestic violence are forms of sex discrimination and are strictly prohibited by the College. Pregnancy discrimination is a form of sex discrimination as well and is a violation of Title IX.
Retaliation against a person who reports, complains about, or participates in the investigation of a complaint of discrimination or harassment is likewise prohibited.
