Achieving Academic Success

College assessments are designed to assist students in reaching an optimal level of development. The program provides continuous feedback to the College community as students matriculate through the College and as they prepare for graduate and professional school and entry into the world of work. It is designed to:

  • Aid in the initial placement of students;
  • Evaluate the progress of students through the selection of individual tests according to their needs;
  • Facilitate the development of self-assessment and
  • Assist students in the areas of test preparation.

Myers Briggs and Strong Interest Inventory

Myers Briggs is a valid and reliable instrument used to gain insight into personality preferences. The Strong Interest Inventory gives insight into a person’s interests which may support her decision-making about a career choice. A faculty member, Dean of Undergraduate Studies or your personal interest may lead you to take one or both assessments.

To complete the Myers Briggs and/or the Strong Interest Inventory, please contact Nyla Dixon via email at ndixon1@spelman.edu or call 404-270-5610. She will give you the ID and password needed to access the instruments. She is also the person to contact for your assessment results.
