Students must apply during their second year and hold a 3.0 cumulative grade point average. You participate on exchange during your junior year, the year before you graduate. You must have chair approval to take major related courses. Reference the tip sheet for drafting your domestic exchange statement. Spelman College has formal student exchange programs with the following institutions:

Fourth Friday in October | Faculty recommendation form (letters are optional) is due |
Early November | Domestic exchange interviews will be held |
Early December | Decision letters are emailed to students |
Fourth Monday in January | Student submits final materials to be advanced to the approved host school(s) |
April/May | Host school notification for fall exchange |
October/November | Host school notification for spring exchange |
Financial obligations vary by school, but you will always pay tuition directly to Spelman College. Remember to check your Spelman bill via Touch Net and pay by the required deadline. Your financial obligations to your host school will fall into one of the four categories listed below. The category will be highlighted in your decision letter should you advance.
