The department of music has a variety of ensembles for all music enthusiasts. Ensemble participation is open by audition to all students of the College, regardless of their degree program or major, for credit or for non-credit. A full year of commitment is expected.
The Atlanta University Center Orchestra is comprised of students from each of the undergraduate institutions within the Atlanta University Center: Clark Atlanta University, Spelman College, and Morehouse College. The AUC Orchestra emphasizes the development of performance skills and the study of a variety of styles and periods from the symphonic orchestra literature. Noire offers students a hands-on ensemble experience, providing an in-depth understanding of contemporary musical styles through writing, arranging, rehearsing, recording, and performing a wide range of repertoire.

Since 1924, the Spelman Glee Club has upheld choral excellence with a diverse repertoire that spans world cultures, commissioned works, sacred and secular literature, and music by African American composers.
The Spelman Chamber Players is a dynamic chamber music ensemble of women of color, comprised of Spelman students who share a passion for making music together.
