Spelman Chamber Players

The Spelman Chamber Players is a dynamic chamber music ensemble of women of color, comprised of Spelman students who share a passion for making music together. Spelman College students have the exciting opportunity to join the Spelman Chamber Players by enrolling in the Chamber Music course (SMUS 090, 0-1 credit). This course is specifically designed for instrumental students who wish to explore and participate in various small ensemble settings. Through the ensemble, students will be exposed to a diverse selection of chamber music literature, spanning from the Baroque to contemporary periods. Collaborating in music-making is at the core of this experience, allowing students to enhance their musicianship and communication skills while sharing the responsibility as individual performers.

All music major and minor candidates are automatically considered for participation in the ensemble. Non-major students must take an audition to demonstrate their level of sight-reading and technique.
