Earn Your Minor in Mathematics

A minor in mathematics provides an excellent background for a variety of careers. A Minor in Mathematics will provide the student with significant mathematical skills and a perspective on this course of study.

The department will assist students in planning elective courses that will give maximum support to their career objectives.

A minor in mathematics consists of ...

1. One computer programming course, such as CIS 121 Computer Science I

2. Five mathematics courses (at least 19 hours):

  • MATH 231 Calculus I
  • MATH 232 Calculus II ( or MATH 295 Honors Calculus I )
  • MATH 296 ( Honors Calculus II)
  • MATH 214 Linear Algebra and Applications
  • MATH 233 Foundations of Mathematics

3. One approved mathematics elective above the 200 level.
