National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements
As an NC-SARA member institution, Spelman College provides distance education to students in 48 states and the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. The State of California is not an NC-SARA member, but the California Bureau for Private Postsecondary Education has authorized Spelman College to provide distance education to California residents. For students in online programs, access the institutional policy on student complaints.

American Chemical Society
The Spelman Chemistry program is approved by the American Chemical Society to offer bachelor’s degrees.
