Beinecke Scholarships are awarded for the graduate education of undergraduate students of exceptional promise to pursue opportunities available to them and to be courageous in the selection of a graduate course of study in the arts, humanities and social sciences. Students apply in their junior (third) year of college study.

If you advance to the interview round, note that all interviews are scheduled for the beginning of November. Only one nominee can be advanced to the Beinecke Selection Committee.
Your Beinecke Scholarship Personal Statement should be 1,000 words or less and describe your background, scholarly interests, plans for graduate study and career aspirations. The statement should include a discussion of some ideas and experiences that have shaped those interests, plans and aspirations. Remember to attach a headshot of yourself in the upper right-hand corner of your statement of purpose.
