Paid Internship Opportunity: 2025 DOE Scholars

Centers for Academic Excellence

The Department of Energy Office of Intelligence and Counterintelligence (IC) CAE team is excited to announce that the Department of Energy Office of Intelligence and Counterintelligence (DOE-IN) is now accepting applications for paid internship opportunities. DOE-IN's headquarters is ideally located in the middle of the National Mall (Forrestal Building). It also has an intelligence presence at National Laboratories, including Oak Ridge, Tennessee; Sandia and Los Alamos, New Mexico, Livermore California, near Chicago, Illinois; and Richland, Washington. DOE Scholars is a Department of Energy-wide program designed to create a pipeline of highly qualified talent in disciplinary fields that support mission critical areas of DOE. DOE Office of Intelligence and Counterintelligence (DOE-IN) Leaders and Managers may incorporate student Scholars to engage in projects and activities related to DOE-IN's mission.

Details of DOE IN Scholars:

  • Appointment Length: Traditionally starts as a summer internship program but can be extended beyond and be a multi-year effort
  • Applicants: Undergraduate, graduate students, and recent graduates (if the degree was received within the last 60 months)
  • Stipend:
    • $900 per week for undergraduate students
    • $950 per week for graduate students and recent graduates
  • Citizenship: U.S. citizens only

Student and recommender portions of the application must be completed by their respective deadlines to be considered complete. The application closes on February 16, 2025, for students and February 23, 2025, for recommenders.

Nikema Williams

Fall 2025 District Internship

Office of Congresswoman Nikema Williams

The Office of Congresswoman Nikema Williams (GA-05) seeks a district intern to work in her Atlanta, GA office for the Fall 2025 session. This paid internship is intended for current undergraduate students, graduate students, and recent graduates interested in gaining experience on a Constituent Services and Outreach team — the Fall 2025 internship runs from August 26 - December 13. The exact start dates and end dates are tentative.

This internship is in-person and offered on a part-time basis. District intern tasks include, but are not limited to:

  • Answering phones and logging constituent calls.
  • Supporting community event planning and set up.
  • Assisting with constituent casework.
  • Working closely with constituents to find solutions to their issues.
  • Other duties as assigned by the District Director, Internship Coordinator, and Constituent Outreach Team.
Ideal candidates will have:
  • Strong writing and communication skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Interest or educational background in politics, community outreach, and/or social work.
