Master of Applied Politics at The University of Akron

The Ray C. Bliss Institute of Applied Politics

Paid Assistantships Available Application Deadline: February 28

This degree is one of only a handful of graduate programs in the United States focusing on practical politics and experiential learning. It is designed for students interested in election campaigns, digital strategy and messaging, fundraising, managing organizations, and other political activities. Assistantships are competitive. 

* All classes are offered in person as well as remotely in real time and completely online
* Students gain real-world experience with internships (funding available)
* Applications are considered year-round for admission
Degree Information
* 30 Credits (see list of classes) 
* No GRE required
* No residency requirement
* Full-time or Part-time
* 9 credits paid tuition for Fall and Spring
* 6 credits paid tuition for Summer
* Bi-weekly stipend for 20 hours of work each week as a teaching assistant (Fall and Spring)

Admission Requirements
Apply: Graduate School 

* Students must fulfill the admission requirements of the UA Graduate School (no specific undergraduate major is required)
* Students must submit two letters of recommendation, a statement of personal goals, a resume, and official transcripts from all universities attended
* International students must submit official scores from the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL)
