The Resident Advisor (RA) role is for students who want to be leaders and create community for the Office of Housing and Residence Life. The RA assumes responsibility for fostering an environment that supports the academic and personal development of students. The RA works closely with the Office of Residence Life in order to maintain a level of consistency between the living area and office in regards to community standards. The role requires dedication, flexibility, commitment and enthusiasm as the RA will actively respond to the changing needs of the residential community. Please be on the lookout during the year for any RA Info Sessions.
The Residence Hall Association (RHA) is a student run organization through the Office of Housing and Residence Life. RHA consists of an Executive Board and Community Leadership Councils in First Year Halls. Each of these branches works to promote the goals and purposes as they relate to residential living, as well as to serve as the student voice. RHA is an avenue for student cooperation and leadership on campus where students can make a difference.
At the beginning of every year, each first year residence hall elects its own group of students to serve as its Community Leadership Council (CLC). These members work together to orchestrate activities for their fellow hall mates and to enhance the residential experience. The CLC has building-wide programs and services that promote community, resident education and hall pride. The goal of each CLC is to serve the interests of the residents, to address any concerns, and to plan events and programs to suit residents' needs.
