The mission of the Student Access Center is to create an accessible academic, social and physical environment by minimizing challenges and facilitating academic success.
The Student Access Center is committed to fulfilling the College’s commitment to providing reasonable and appropriate accommodations for Spelman students with varying health and learning needs. We believe accessibility is an essential feature of Spelman College's commitment to diversity and inclusive excellence. Our work focuses on building partnerships with faculty and academic departments to facilitate our students with developing independence, self-sufficiency and self-advocacy necessary for success in our academic community.
We are in partnership with members of our community to develop and implement programs and policies to expedite our students’ integration into all aspects of campus life. We serve as a resource center for our campus community on questions centered on disability, accessibility, accommodations and referring students for resource assistance with managing concerns within the College and the greater Atlanta metropolitan area.
We welcome you to visit, call or email our center for assistance and support.
