  • Cosmetic Chemistry Concentration
  • Cosmetic Science Minor

Individuals interested in one of the above must enroll in the Survey of Beauty and Cosmetics (COS212) in Fall 2024.

Additional information regarding Cosmetics-related Tracks:

  • The Chemistry Major BS—Cosmetic Chemistry concentration is available for individuals who, in Fall 2024, are incoming first-year and rising second—and third-year students.
  • Only students whose major does not require the general and organic chemistry course sequence can minor in cosmetic science.
  • Computer and Information Science (CIS) majors can select the CIS + X option and utilize the cosmetic science minor course sequence for the CIS + Cosmetics track. The CIS Department Chair must advise individuals.
  • Health Sciences major can select Health Sciences Option 2 with Cosmetic Chemistry using the courses outlined in the course sequence. Students must be advised by a Health Sciences advisor.
  • Courses offered this coming academic year are pre-requisites for subsequent cosmetic chemistry courses:
    • Survey of Beauty and Cosmetics (SCOS 212) – Fall 2024
    • Cosmetic Chemistry (SCOS 326) – Spring 2025
    • Cosmetic Formulations (SCOS 326L) – Spring 2025
