Paula Dobbs, LCSW, the Assistant Director of Prevention and Intervention, is responsible for the development, implementation, and evaluation of a comprehensive empowerment-based and trauma-informed violence prevention program to include educational programs, intervention services, consultation regarding policy initiatives, and support for campus community members who have experienced sexual harassment, stalking, intimate partner violence, sexual assault, and gender-based discrimination. She has primary responsibility for building and/or strengthening collaborative relationships with the internal and external stakeholders supporting and advancing the Campus Community Response Team (CCRT) as well as advising the Peer Educators.
Paula is a clinical social worker and trauma therapist as well as a member of the newly formed Georgia Murder-Suicide Resource Network. She has over 8 years of work experience in Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault and Stalking. Paula helped to establish Cobb County’s Elder Abuse multi-disciplinary team, JEDI (Just for Elder & Disabled Individuals) and started the annual Elder Awareness Day yarn storming across Cobb County. She is passionate about advocacy and is often found helping those victimized locate resources and assistance.
When Paula is not advocating or healing, she can be found in nature or reading in the sunshine. Paula holds a bachelor's in social work from Georgia State University, a master’s in Social Work from Kennesaw State University, and is a newly admitted doctoral student at Clark Atlanta University.
