I am passionate about addressing disparities in dermatological care, particularly for people of color who face unique challenges in skin health. Growing up, I saw firsthand how limited access to dermatology impacts my community. My goal as a future dermatologist is to bridge this gap by focusing on conditions that disproportionately affect people of color, while also examining how skin conditions impact self-esteem. Additionally, I aim to debunk myths about melanated skincare needs and to contribute to treating conditions commonly affecting the African American community, such as melasma, acne keloidalis nuchae, and traction alopecia. By promoting diversity in patient care and within the field, I hope to empower individuals to feel confident and healthy in their own skin.
