What health disparity are you interested in solving and why?
A health care disparity that I am interested in solving is children access to preventative healthcare. In many Black communities there is an issue of limited access to vaccines, regular checkups, and dental care due to the communities being underserved. Preventative healthcare is important because it reduces the risk of severe illnesses and ensures early detection of developmental issues. I am interested in helping solve this health disparity because I aspire to be an advocate for policy changes and public health reforms. While also helping engage the community with these issue to build empathy and a deeper understanding of social determinants of health.
