What health disparity are you interested in solving and why?
My goal as a dentist is to promote racial equity and break down systemic barriers that prevent the Black community from receiving quality dental care. Black dentists only make up 4% of the dental field and are three times more likely to suffer from periodontal disease. Being that the Black community makes up well over 4% of the United States population, the field of dentistry should be just as diverse as the population that dentists serve. Not only is my commitment to ensure oral health and confidence, but it is also to diversify the field of dentistry and bridge the gap in equitable healthcare access.
