What health disparity are you interested in solving and why?
I'm interested in solving the health disparity of food apartheid as I believe that it's a necessity for communities to have access to healthy produce. Nutritional food is important for families to have access to, as it helps with one's physical, emotional, and mental well-being. I want to ensure I address this as a future social epidemiologist through exploring the statistics of this disparity and provide research findings to help public health policy makers create policies that aid families in having equitable access to healthy produce.
