Katherine Cummings, C'2026, is an
economics major with a minor in
Asian studies. Through the Executive Leadership Council Scholarship Program, Cummings earned an Ann Fudge Scholarship.
Originally from Montclair, New Jersey, Cummings is passionate about pursuing a career in the financial industry. She gained valuable experience as a credit trading intern at JPMorgan and Chase during the summer of 2023 and as an intern at the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco in 2022, working under their chief of payments.
At Spelman, Katherine is a Dean’s List Scholar and an active member of the selective
Women of Excellence and Leadership program. Katherine has also participated in several prestigious external programs, including the AltFinance Fellowship, Milken Institute HBCU Strategic Initiative Fellowship, U.S. Bank 20×20 Finance Fellowship, Goldman Sachs Market Madness and Emerging Leaders programs, SEO Career, and the JPMorgan Sadie Summit. These experiences have equipped her with a wealth of knowledge, which she uses to give back to her community. Cummings volunteers with organizations like First Generation Investors, where she teaches high school students how to invest, and she also mentors middle school students from her hometown. Driven and ambitious, Cummings is dedicated not only to her academic and professional growth but also to uplifting her community.
