What health disparity are you interested in solving and why?

I am dedicated to addressing cancer disparities that disproportionately affect Black and underserved populations. My research at Johns Hopkins, studying proteins involved in lung cancer progression, highlighted not only the scientific insights that can improve outcomes but also the harsh reality that these advances often don’t reach communities most in need. Black individuals face higher cancer mortality due to systemic barriers that delay diagnosis and limit treatment access. I am driven to advocate for policies that expand screenings, promote community-driven care, and fund oncology resources in underserved areas, working toward a healthcare system where high-quality cancer care is accessible to all.
