Spelman College is pleased to announce the launch of its new strategic plan, Elevat-ED: Empowering Excellence, Inspiring Change. The updated plan focuses on the College’s commitment to academic excellence, greater student access and affordability and positive social change.
“Our plan focuses on building upon Spelman’s remarkable history while positioning us for continued excellence and relevance in the future,” said President Helene Gayle.
Spelman embraces innovation at local and global levels, while manifesting institutional agility to transform and consistently excel under diverse circumstances. The College’s updated strategic plan provides a solid foundation for ongoing transformation in response to pressing, multifaceted issues in the higher education landscape. Spelman adapts its institutional priorities to serve current and future generations and remains committed to its vision of transformative social justice, global change, advanced curriculum and community impact.

“Looking back on our record of accomplishments, we have much to celebrate. Yet, there is more work to do. Within these framing concepts, we propose to lift Spelman to new heights supreme and true. Spelman’s future remains bright. It inspires this call to action—to reach even higher goals than we have ever achieved, to ensure the viability and growth of Spelman College,” said President Gayle.
