Princess Sampson is a software engineer and honor student dedicated to bringing Black women's voices into the tech industry through interdisciplinary research and activism. Her earliest introductions to academia were works rooted in Black feminist and critical race theory. A third-generation educator, she is passionate about pedagogy that humanizes the Black child and prepares them for the economy of the future.
Sampson serves as a research assistant for the Derricotte Research Group at Morehouse College, contributing to work in computational quantum chemistry. Her primary community service is the development of culturally relevant computing curricula for the
SpelBots; and she is a Change Agent at the Lowery Institute. In the summer of 2019, she had a software engineering internship with Amazon at their Seattle headquarters. This past summer, she interned at Amazon NYC. After Spelman, she will pursue a doctorate focused on computing in the context of ethics, exploitation and empire. She is the oldest of six children and a third-generation HBCU student.
