Briyanna Philip is a graduating senior Psychology Major from Alpharetta, Georgia. Briyanna is a member of the Ethel Waddell Githii Honors Program, Bonner Scholars, and serves as the current President of So Psyched! Psychology Club.
Throughout her fours years at Spelman, Briyanna has conducted community- engaged research a part of Morehouse School of Medicine’s Health Disparities Program for three years. Furthermore, Briyanna currently interns with Columbia University’s Global Mental Health Program (GMHP) – World Health Organization.
As a part of GMHP, Briyanna has written a paper about the lack of epidemiological research regarding eating disorders in African and Caribbean countries, and her paper will be published in the Internation Journal of Eating Disorders. Briyanna plans to continue conducting research that will help dismantle health disparities in the Black community domestically and abroad.
After graduation, Briyanna will be pursuing her Master’s in Public Health concentrating in Health Policy and Management at Columbia University, Mailman School of Public Health.
