Gabrielle Davis graduated Spelman Magna Cum Laude with her Bachelor of Arts in International Studies and Economics. Within the food studies program she focused on farmworker rights across the globe, primarily centering large food producing economies.
With this scope she wrote her thesis in the two fields regarding Foreign Direct Investment and Food Self-sufficiency. Since graduating she has taken her interest in food systems and global affairs to the field.
During her first post graduate year, Gabrielle has traveled to over 17 countries, spanning 5 continents exploring food pathways and how they support local economies and cultures. From working on an organic farm in the mountains of Colombia to street food tours in the alleys of Ho Chi Minh, it is safe to say that food will follow her into the corporate field. This fall she will join strategy consulting firm, EY-Parthenon, as an associate in their New York City office.

“Spelman College's Food Studies Program, the first interdisciplinary food studies program at an Historically Black College and University, engages students in an innovative exploration of food interdisciplinarity and centers its connectivity to the African Diaspora, intersectionality, and food science. It is our hope that our food scholars will find the needed community, scholarship, and professional opportunities through the program to approach some of these pressing global and local food challenges.
