Important Dates for Financial Aid

 

October 1
Yearly, Oct. 1 is the first date to submit the FAFSA for federal processing, www.fafsa.ed.gov
February 1 Student's FAFSA file (Student Aid Report) is due in the Office of Financial Aid by February 1 for priority awarding
March Release of Financial Aid Offer Notices. Returning students can start applying for Spelman's Institutional Scholarships. 
May 1 Enrollment Deposit due to the Office of Admission (New First-Time Students)

 

 

Disbursement Policy

Per Federal Regulations, the earliest that a school may disburse Federal Student Aid funds to the student's account is 10 days before the first day of classes for that payment period. It is the policy of Spelman College that no financial aid (Federal, State or Institution) be disbursed prior to 10 days before the first day of class. Financial Aid Disbursements will occur after drop/add period registration period.

Friday, December 13, 2024 Estimated/Authorized Financial Aid post to Student Accounts
Monday, January 27, 2025 Spring 2025 Financial Aid Disbursements
Friday, February 7, 2025 Spring 2025 Refunds Processed by Student Accounts
