Sociology and Anthropology Minors

Two minors, one in sociology and one in anthropology, are available within the department.

Sociology Minor

The minor in sociology consists of 24 hours and includes the following courses:

  • SOC 203: The Sociological Imagination
  • SOC 422: Contemporary Social Theory
  • SOC 334: Multivariate Analysis

Choose from one of our Suite of Methods courses:

  • SOC 335: Survey of Research Methods
  • SANT 336: Ethnographic Methods
  • SANT316 Feminist Ethnography
  • SANT 375 Food in/and the City
  • SANT 360 Applied Geographic Information Systems
  • 8 hours of sociology electives (300 level) or above.

Anthropology Minor

The minor in anthropology consists of 24 hours and includes the following courses:

  • SANT 203: Introduction to Anthropology
  • SOC 203: The Sociological Imagination
  • SANT320 Anthropological Theory
  • SANT 336: Ethnographic Methods
  • 8 hours of SANT electives (300 level or above)
