Alumna Named CEO of Detroit Social Services Non-Profit

Spelman Alumna Jametta LilyJametta Lilly, C'78, has been named chief executive officer of the social services agency, Detroit Parent Network. Lilly, who previously was assistant director for Wayne County Head Start and Early Head Start for nearly three years, has over 20 years experience in local agencies, foundations and social work.

“We often talk about children and providing change for children," said Lilly in a previous interview. “But what we don't like to talk about is that the only way that we can really help children is by supporting parents and families.”

An innovative change agent, Lilly has provided leadership as an administrator or consultant to local agencies, foundations, state and federal government programs including the Detroit and Wayne County Health Departments, Wayne County Head Start and Early Head Start, Early Childhood Investment Corporation (ECIC), Wayne County Community College District, Detroit Wayne County Community Mental Health Agency, W.K. Kellogg Foundation, Schools of the 21 st Century and the Michigan Black Caucus Foundation among others.
