YLA Camp

Created by Spelman College alumna, Chelsea Jackson Roberts, Ph.D., in 2013, Yoga, Literature, and Art Camp integrates art, yoga, writing, and dialogue through a curriculum developed by Chelsea that unites her research in language, literacy, and culture; as well as, her experiences as an educator and yoga teacher.

The program is firmly grounded in the literature and art created by women of the African Diaspora and participants experience a diverse rotation of artists, educators, and yoga instructors throughout the camp experience.

YLA Camp is a tuition-free camp that takes place Mondays through Thursdays from June 3 - June 13. The program is sustained by the support of the community through small donations and community organizations like Lululemon (Here to Be), Sacred Chill West, The Dirty South Yoga Festival, the Spelman College Community, and multiple yoga studios and communities throughout Atlanta.
